MELAKA, Aug 20 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has described the action of a blogger in calling on his blogsite followers to fly the national flag upside down as a sign of protest, as evil.

He said flying the Jalur Gemilang upside down could not be regarded as an act of mischief alone but a despicable one, what more with Malaysia about to celebrate its 51st independence anniversary.

“This is uncouth behaviour, showing no respect at all for the national flag. What is there to be angry with the Malaysian flag?” he said after officiating at the Third Scouts International Peace Jamboree, here Wednesday.

“If there are Malaysians who want to take up the idea that came from the pro-opposition blogger, they are insulting this important national symbol (flag),” he said.

Abdullah said the blogger came up with the idea to fly the national flag upside down hoping that others would follow suit, without thinking of the implications.

“It’s all in the blog…only he can do a good job. He’s simply creating trouble by coming up with dubious stories,” he said.

It was reported in cyberspace that Kelantanese blogger Sheih (Kickdefella) had on Aug 3 launched a campaign to fly the Jalur Gemilang upside down as a symbol of the people’s frustrations and as a signal of a nation in distress.

He also wrote in his blog that “it is internationally accepted that raising the flag upside down is a mark of a state in distress. It is never a mark of disrespect.”

Some bloggers and commentators quickly declared their support for the idea but many, including from the opposition, were against it as they felt the national flag deserved the utmost respect.

A blog visitor wrote that in India, flying the national flag upside down as an international symbol of distress was unacceptable, and in fact an insult to the nation.

Abdullah, meanwhile, hoped the police would act on the matter.

On the televised debate between acting Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng tonight, Abdullah said it was apt.

good nitez… im sleepy… catch u all up tomolo!!!! dear bloggers… biasa la..” truth will always taste bitter ” !!

I support the campaign! Flying an upside down flag is not disrespect!! Its a mark of protest, sign of distress.. Our country has gone backwards in so many aspects! judicary, politics, human rights and many more. We are now leftout far behind! together wift zorro-unmasked , The People”s Parliament, Kickdafella and The Dandelions , i would like to fly the flag upside down !!

reasons why i support the protest:

1. the peaceful assemblies being disrupted by the police for own political gain.

2. the use of ISA without trial!

3. the on going corruption.

4. the failure of the judiciary system.

5. the involvement of government officials in the murder case of Altantunya.

6. the freedom of constitution law is violated especially in the freedom of religion under Article 11, expl in the case of Subashini, Lina Joy, Holy Scriptures and Bibles banned from entering the country, the movie Passion of Christbeing banned in Malaysia and the demolition of holy temples.

7. the one sight media coverage

8. discrimination against the indians

9. police failure in Nurin and Sharlenee case!

10. Last but latest, 10 year old indian boy was arrested, handcuffed and brought to special integration room and was tortured to da max!!!! this happens in Ipoh 2 days back!!!

“I write messages on money.
It’s my own form of social protest.
A letter printed on paper that no one will destroy
passed indiscriminately across race, class and gender lines
and written in the blood that keeps the beast alive.
A quiet little hijacking
on the way to the check-out counter
And a federal crime.
I hope that someone will find my message one day
when they really need it.
Like I do”

8.8.08 Marks the 20th anniversary of the massacre in Burma of 3,000 people committed by the Military Dictators who are currently illegitimately ruling Burma.  So let’s join together, lets stand in solidarity, lets bring unity to the Movement!! Let’s all go out on the streets in our cities on 8.8.08 and let the world know that it’s Burma’s Day!

What can we do:

- JOIN IN ON THE RALLIES AROUND THE WORLD

- NO RALLIES IN YOUR AREA? CREATE ONE, WE’LL HELP YOU PROMOTE IT!

- LEARN WHY 8.8.08 IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DAYS IN BURMA’S HISTORY

- CONTACT US AND LET US KNOW YOUR IDEAS ON HOW TO MAKE GLOBAL BURMA’S DAY A SUCCESS!

Why?!

  • China must Stops blocking a United Nations arms embargo on Burma and stops selling weapons to Burma’s regime, and
  • Imprisoned And Tortured Over 1,000 Political Prisoners Including Noble Peace Prize Recipient Aung San Suu Kyi
  • Have Recruited 70,000 Child Soldiers (largest in the world)
  • Genocide
  • Horrendous Human Rights Abuses
  • China must ends its support for Burma’s regime. If China does not change its policies, you will:

In 1988, that was 20 years ago the world was not aware of the massacre of 3,000 innocent lives. It is time for us to change that and dedicate this day 8.8.08 Global Burma Day!..

….. For decades before, Burma had been ruled by an isolationists and repressive military dictatorship led by General Ne Win. In 1987 Ne Win revalued Burma’s currency and overnight wiped out people’s savings. Students in Burma began organizing protests about Burma’s mounting economic crisis. On 13 March 1988 students protesting outside the Rangoon Institute of Technology clashed with the military and Phone Maw, a fourth year engineering student, was shot dead.

Protests quickly escalated, with students being joined by ordinary citizens, monks, and civil servants. August 8, 1988 marks the day of the largest protests in Burma’s history with hundreds of thousands taking part in protests. Like the protesters of the Saffron Revolution, students sported their symbol of the fighting peacock, and monks carried their alms bowls upside down to show they would not accept handouts from the military, again as a protest.

On 26 August, Aung San Suu Kyi, the daughter of independence hero Aung San who had only recently returned to Burma to nurse her sick mother, made a speech at Shwedagon Pagoda and became the public face of the democracy movement.

Protests continued until September 18th when the military sprayed automatic rifle fire into crowds of protesters. Other demonstrators were carried away in trucks and never seen again.

Remember, “Revolution is not like an apple, it falls when its ripe, you have to make it fall!” - che guevara  .Let us all stand up and fight against this Human Rights Abuse! Free Aung San Suu Kyi!! Save Burma!

08.08.08, Global Day of Action!! Light up candles, anywhere, outside your house, garden, room, road site ,  infront of China Embassy or anywhere as a sign of remembering Aung San Suu Kyi and for our brothers and sisters who sacrificed their lives in the revolution of Free Burma !!! Lets us put our hands together and pray to God, God Please Save Burma!!!!

** events in Malaysia @ Kuala Lumpur and Penang will be onboard soon..

Millions Rallied to free Nelson Mandela and South Africa, Now Its Burma”s Turn!!!!!!!!

Karpal Singh has warned Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his ministers not to volunteer unsolicited comments that may compromise police investigations into PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s alleged sodomy offence. The DAP chairperson said in a statement today that he was shocked by Pak Lah’s challenge to Anwar to prove his innocence in this controversial allegation by giving his DNA sample. It is elementary that under thesystem of law, it is not the PM who considers the result of an investigation but the police who are required to put up investigation papers to the Attorney-General. It is wrong for the PM to publicly challenge Anwar to disprove the allegation of sodomy against him. The PM should hold his piece and not publicly direct and influence police investigation, added Karpal Singh.

An Israeli doctor says
‘Medicine in my country is so advanced that we can take a kidney out of one man, put it in another, and have him looking for work in six weeks.’

A German doctor says
‘That is nothing, we can take a lung out of one person, put it in another, and have him looking for work in four weeks.

A Russian doctor says
‘In my country, medicine is so far progressed that we can take half a heart out of one person, put it in another, and have them both looking for work in two weeks.’

The Malaysian doctor….
not to be outdone, says
‘You guys are way behind, we recently took a man with no brains, out from Kepala Batas, Penang , put him in the Parliament for 5 years, and now half the country is looking for work.’

its 1 year… Sujatha left the world. But the mystery of her deadth still unsolved! Malaysian actress Sujatha, age 29, died at Klang general hospital. Local newspapers did not specify the cause of her death but a police report has been made yesterday by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (Justice Party) implicating Vellpari, EX -  Works Minister Samy Vellu’s son, on her untimely death.

Sujatha was also the personal secretary of Vellpaari, managing director of Maika Holdings before her death. Sources say both of them were romantically involved for along time, though Vellpaari was married to popular singer Shaila Nair, and Sujatha pressed Vellpaari to marry her. Sad to say, till today, there is no updates on her death. Its still remains mystery and unsolved. May you rest in peace!

I still believe that, the justice in this country havent die yet… well, its a sodomizing country wat more can expect.. cover ur own ass before its too late.. hahaha..
